Tiger Terrorist's Bomb Attack at Piliyandala Bus Bomb |

Kumara |

I, R.D. Dayawathi, mother of the deceased bus conductor
nandana Kumara. My husband is a patient suffering from high blood
pressure. I had five children. The deceased son Nandana Kumara is
the fourth. There are 3 girls elder to him and a younger brother.
Nandana Kumara was obtained as a priest at the age of 9 years at
Bombuwela Temple and as there was deficiency of income in the family
and it was difficult to continue livelihood he left robes and followed
a computer course to get employment.
Though he went to several places in search of employment and could
not find one, and having come to know that conductors are recruited
for the CTB he went for employment as a conductor from 08th April
2008. thereafter he stayed at Kesbewa and whilst working as a conductor
he came home on 24th April 2008 to see us. Stating that he had o
go for work in the evening of 25th April 2008, he left home that
day in the morning of 25th April 2008 at about 08.00a.m. While leaving
the house he said that he would come home after work was over on
the 26th for some requirement.
That night about 8.00p.m we came to know that a bomb had exploded
in a bus near Piliyandala bus stand and several people have died
and several others were gravely injured. Having come to Piliyandala
on that information we came to know that my son Nandana Kumara was
caught to the bomb and died inside the bus.
My son left robes with the intention of finding employment, as
he could not bear the poverty in the home. Demise of Nandana Kumara
who was friendly with everybody in the village is an unbearable
sorrow and loss for all of us. It is known that this bomb explosion
is an act of LTTE Tamil terrorists.
